On Friday evening was the Matric Dance for all the grade 12 Herschel girls. They all invited someone as their date for tonight. Most of them wore beautiful dresses, and they had their hair nicely done. Almost all the girls from grade 11 signed up to waitress at this dance. What we basically did was bringing the plates inside, picking them up and cleaning the rubbish. It was really nice to see all the girls with their dates, and to see how much effort they put in looking pretty for their final dance. Graduation is coming really close for them now.
Saturday was a very sad day, because we had to say goodbye to three of the Chilean exchange students. Pia, Anto and Vicente were going back home...
In the afternoon, Pia and Anto invited me together with Agnès, Trini and some other of her friends to come for a picknick at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. The weather was beautiful, and it was a really nice last afternoon with them. At around 6 o'clock, we drove to the airport to wave them goodbye. It was really sad, everyone cried.
I couldn't believe that they were already leaving, time flew by so fast... We have truly become such a good friends, created so many good memories here together, some of which I'll never ever forget. They really contributed such a huge part of my exchange experience. We'll definitely keep in touch with each other. I really hope I can say that this wasn't a good bye, but a "see you soon"
Hopefully we will see meet other soon somewhere in the future... But for now we had to give each other a big hug, and say goodbye...
When we drove back home from the airport, Trini came along with me to my house for a sleepover. It was a really nice night. We stayed up very late, and discussed our exchange experiences so far. It made us realize that our time here is running out soon as well...
The next morning we visited some crafts made by Zimbabwean artists, and for the rest of the day we just had a lazy afternoon by the pool.
